You may notice that this list of award recipients is shorter than in prior years, meaning that approved club awards remain to be named for 2024 recipients. After long discussion the board has approved the Awards Committee to extend the awards nominations for 2024. The nominating period will be extended until April 23rd, 2025. This extension will in no way change the already nominated members that have received their awards.

The following awards are available for nominations.

RUFUS AWARD:

In recognition of the Spinone that demonstrates exceptional performance in both the field and conformation ring. Only NAVHDA Utility and AKC field work shall be considered. Candidates must have both a qualifying NAVHDA Utility level score and an AKC SH or MH title, plus be an AKC conformation Champion. This award is not bound by the previous calendar year and can be awarded for a lifetime of achievement.

ASTI'S COMPASSION TROPHY:

This trophy is awarded in recognition of Asti's career, the efforts of those special therapy Spinone who follow in his giant paw prints, and compassion. Asti spent his life sharing as he lifted the human spirit of those in need. This award is not bound by the previous calendar year and can be awarded for a lifetime of achievement.

VOLUNTEER of the YEAR:

In recognition of the ultimate SCOA volunteer. This individual has made a significant contribution to SCOA. This award is not limited to the preceding calendar year.
