Spinone Spectacular at the National Specialty!
For Spinoni that are outstanding in their field!
Come and celebrate the achievements of our breed in all the many activities in which they participate. Spinoni are primarily versatile hunting dogs, but also excel in many other activities such as AKC conformation events, obedience, rally, agility, coursing, scent work, as service and therapy dogs, and more. They achieve recognition in their various endeavors, but we also want to recognize them at our National Specialty.
In order to expand our recognition of high-achieving dogs at the National Specialty, the Board unanimously approved a motion to replace the Top 20 competition in 2025 with a “Spinone Spectacular,” which recognizes the Top 20 conformation dogs in breed and owner-handled, and high performers in hunting, performance, and companion events.
All participants will receive a custom rosette and strut their stuff at the National. A photo with a short biography will be part of slide shows for each of the three categories, acknowledging their outstanding achievements, to be posted on the SCOA website.
More information is to follow on the 2025 National Specialty website, including qualifications and how to enter your dog. Being held for the first time in 2025, any living dog that meets the qualifications will be accepted.
